Brief

After the succes of the ride-sharing concept Abel in Amsterdam, we were asked to create a like minded solution for traditional public transport. In region of Arnhem and Nijmegen the concept of Breng Flex was launched to enable residents to travel more flexible by booking a seat in a vehicle on their route from busstop to busstop.

Breng Flex brings ride sharing to public transport by enabeling travellers to book a ride from busstop to busstop on demand. By not booking a vehicle, but a seat in a small bus or car the booked rides are combined in the most efficient route.

By sharing (electric) vehicles, this new form of transportation can be seen as an solution for the traditional buslines operating on fixed routes.

Residents can book a seat in a vehicle, schedule a date and pick-up time and pay upfront or in the vehicle. When their trip is accepted they will receive an estimated pick-up time and more detailed information about their ride. This includes the driver, type of vehicle and the amount of other passengers / stops.
